I am working on a design of a control system. Some rods are 5 ft long. The resonance frequencies of these long rods (the mode with both ends fixed) are lower than the 5800rpm max frequency of the Rotax engine used in this airplane. One design manual says the resonance frequency of a control rod needs to be higher than the highest frequency of the engine by a healthy margin to avoid control rod - engine resonance. The Rotax engine has a frequency twice as high as conventional piston engine. To push the resonance frequency so high will make the rod tube very thick and increase the weight significantly. And it is difficult for me to decrease the length of the rods due to distances btw bulkheads. Please help.
