I have been looking at Neal Wilford's structure calculation worksheet "Spreadsheet for estimating the strength of steel, aluminum and wood columns", part of the EAA article series that he wrote.

It calculates the compressive and tensile strength of steel, aluminum, and wood "tubes", and the column buckling stress, along with the margin of safety for a given load.

Could this be used to determine the minimum spacing of bushings, or other supports, on a pushrod to prevent buckling?
