Hi, my name is James, or Jim for short. I am currently a second-year mechanical engineering student and planning on going for a graduate degree in aerospace engineering (Although I'm a few years away). Right now I'm trying to build my own plane with retractable hydrofoils that will ideally fly primarily within the ground effect. The goal of my plane is to increase the efficiency and speed at which ship-like payloads can be moved across long distances. I have never built any aircraft besides model rockets and a kit drone. Although I plan to start prototyping soon, the scale of my design means that I will be in the RC stage for a good while
