My MX170B is on the fritz and TKM is no longer around. Looking at replacement options, they are all about $4200 to 4600. Seems like some price collusion. Not a EE, but how hard is it to develop these? Seems like someone could do well with a significantly lower cost option.

Though about a GNC 355, but hard to justify GPS for my type of flying. Going IMC in the mountains without being equipped for known ice is generally a bad idea, IMO. At least that is what I tell myself since I don't want to spend $10k for it. Just frustrated.
