This is in our local Craigslist. It is described as Red Fir. Around here, that can be Douglas fir, or two types other fir, which all seem likely candidates for building airplane. Both red fir types seem to be similar in strength and weight to Sitka Spruce.
These are a two hour drive from me, but I gotta drive an hour to buy groceries anyway. It's an hour past my wife's work. Although I have built tube and fabric, and all aluminum, I have NEVER built a wood full scale airplane. Do these look work pursuing for spars or ribs?
