Hi all,

I've never needed to build aircraft pieces from 6061 before but now's the first time. For my Heinkel He51 Project I Need to build the fin, rudder, Elevators and others from this material. I've never used it before and I don't know what it's like. A few days ago I got myself a sheet of Aluminium from a local diy-store. Here's what I did with it:

This material was fairly easy to handle. It bent well and I had no difficulties in forming this rib out of it. Now is 6061 anything like this? I understand it needs to be annealed after shaping.
I appreciate your input! :)

Peter
