Hey all,
So I purchased a partially completed Pietenpol. Steel fuselage, is welded, most of the work on the wings are complete, same with the empennage and it’s sitting on the gear. But there’s still a tremendous amount to do.
My understanding is that since it is a plans built design, it qualifies under the 51% rule because there’s no other way to build it except from scratch. I may be able to get the other builder’s logs but probably not. My understanding is that I’m the third builder in this process. The gentleman I purchased from had himself purchased the welded fuselage.
I still have to do all the firewall forward, the fuel system, flight control connections, wing mounting, instrumentation, instrument panel, covering and paint.
So what’s the word?
