    Subaru 4cyl engine CAD model

I just thought I'd put this up for those who may want it.
I'm currently working (in my spare time) on drawing up an accurate Subaru 4cyl engine model for my aircraft designs 'cos I'm picky and I do like things to look right even on paper (CRT?).
If anyone wants a copy of the finished file I can send it to them in most 3D formats, and I might even be able to make a passable 2D version as well from the finished item
I expect to be finished it sometime in the coming week.

As you can see I've just got the block to get finished, it's been an interesting job, having to work form some very limited 2D drawings which were just basic rear and side elevations and what usable pictures I could find to reference the rest from.

Thats Awsome. Thanks for the Contribution! I'm not building a Sub but it's very cool anyways. I really need to jump on the 3D bandwaggon. Just a bit pricey for me though.

    hi there
I'm am working on a sub. 2.2 legacy coversion with a marcott redrive. I'm planing on keeping this conversion simple and the power output on a conseritive side. using a proven system using a early ford escort distributor with dual igniters , two coils with a stock car diode coil splitter , and I will stick with a carburator .
I would be very interested in your cad drawings . I have a 3d keycad program which I can import auto cad programs in to view and work with it. at lest Its so post to work . please send me one or 2 of you drawings so I can try it first .

    Hey Strangedays,

Did you ever finish the cad rendering of the sub engine? Is it a 2.2 SOHC. I'd love to see the completed product.

I have to admit, I've been a little slack
I got it mostly done, but I got sidetracked into working on the mount once I had enough of it done to get an accurate guide to fit it.
I've been pretty busy with babies and work to get much else done, but I've amassed quite a collection of small metal parts

Nice to hear from you again! If you're "busy with babies" (plural ! I've got a single 1 year old) then you have my instant admiration for having collected any parts.

I use Rhino and would like a copy if you have it done.

    G'day from Qld.

I have been searching for Subaru EJ22 CAD models. Did you get the job done? Do you still have the files and are they available? Thanks BGM.

If anybody is interested i knocked up an ej20 early legecy, minus the manifold.
It is only useful for packaging design, you could not make engine parts with the file.
I saw the ej20 at google sketchup and that mesh model is crap, don't use it!
    Mesh is practically useless.

anyone come up with mounting points on the top or bottom of engine for mount points for an engine mount? i haven't got my subie block yet but hoping to do a billet mount system like maxwell propulsions had. sort of a conical billet mount set.

I am working on an EJ 22 aircraft installation, package layout. The manifold is not an issue. I would be happy to give it a try.
