Hi I'm new here, been reading this forum for a while. Guess I'm a lurker. I'm interested in building an ultralight glider. Fom what I've read on this forum composite structures are simply to build. I have an idea for a lightweight wing structure and would like some feedback on it.

Start with a foam core wing with a D-cell leading edge. Aft of the shear web cut the foam core into diagonal trusses or ribs between the trailing edge and the spar. Apply fiberglass to the tops bottoms and sides of the of the trusses or ribs. Cover the whole mess with dacron cloth.

The D-cell leading would be glassed, glass spar caps main spar would be attached via retangular sparbox, trailing edge spar would be pined.

Would this be a viable structure.

Thanks Dave
