Hi everyone, :)
Man...PBS had a great show on tonight about the men that flew aircraft to England for the war effort, during WWII. What a show. Think about this, flying over the North Atlantic in freezing weather at night, with no more navigation than the stars. These were civilians and they made serious bank $$ doing this, but baby...the danger. They flew so many planes, many being checked out (if you call it that) on twelve planes. Later after America entered the war, the FC expanded and flew supplies and planes all over the place. The Commander, a Liberator was used to fly Sir Winston Churchill to Africa and then to Russia. Can you imagine being the guy that was responsible for that mission! If you didn't see the show, check you local public tv for a re-broadcast...you won't regret it.
