Just had a conversation with an aquaintence and something surprising and at least for me, improbable came up in the disscusion of the CA-65 Skyfly , the all wood design by Anton Cvjetcovic. I was told that the spar caps were made from 3/4" Finnish Birch / Baltic Birch plywood. I've no knowledge of this material but I do know plywood is typically CROSS GRAIN laminated roto-cut sheets. That's why it is such a stable material. I tried to envision how and where this plywood would be used in the spars but I can only come up with web material or possibly shear skins.
Does anyone have any knowledge about the construction techniques used in the CA-65 wing spars???
Thanks in advance...
