Hey Guys, I'm getting ready to start welding all the mounting tabs to my biplane. My initial plan was to immeadiately epoxy primer the tab as well as the area around it right after I weld them.
I got an idea from Robert Lees Tayorcraft restoration site.
He used what he calls wax oil to fill the tab crevises to help keep moisture out of the area. I like the idea, he added the wax after the primer. I was thinking I might use Bondo to form a fillet in the crevice before I primed the area. I also thought of useing T-88 epoxy to fill the crevice. I know this may seem trivial or maybe a waste of time, but after a near decade of construction I would like to have a good quality long lasting airframe. Any advise or better ideas would be appreciated.
