There's an article in the latest issue of U/F about a new aviation fuel, that Teledyne Continental Motors has been testing in their engines, they call 94UL. It's just 100LL that they leave the lead out. So it's just as pure, alcohol free, and all, but lower octane.

So far, it has passed their testing with no knock in all their engines. It's likely to be pushed into common use very soon, since TELead will soon be unavailable.

This new fuel will be ideal for our 2-stroke engines. No lead and no alcohol, with all the purity and consistency of avgas.
