    HBA Gets a New Server - 01 Nov 08

    HBA Gets a New Server - 30 Oct 08

I'm pleased to announce that I finally bit the bullet and moved HBA to a better performing server plan. I was growing frustrated with the slow performance and realized that if HBA was to continue to grow something needed to be done. As in most things, you get what you pay for.

For those techie types out there, HBA used to be on what is known as a Shared Server. This meant that it shared resources with hundreds of other websites on the same server. Technical problems or heavy traffic on those other websites could occasionally adversely affect HBA's performance. As of this morning HBA now resides on what is known as a Virtual Private Server. This means HBA will be guaranteed it's own server resources that cannot be encroached upon by other websites. It's one step down from a Dedicated Server.

If you would like to comment on the upgrade, or if you encounter any problems, you can discuss it here:

It's a spammer. A null content reply to an 8 year old thread, first post, and the spam was on the profile page.

In the case of a spammer or inappropriate post, you can report the post to moderators for action. In the lower left corner of the message window, you'll see a small triangular icon with an exclamation point inside. Clicking that will take you to a screen that will allow you to provide a reason for your objection, then submit it to moderators. They can choose to delete the message, thread, and/or ban or admonish the poster.

That's his new airplane until he gets his larger Bearhawk flying. Chris, I think the larger Bearhawk is a great idea and fills a need in the market. I'll be waiting for a flight report. Just wish the market was like it was a few years ago.

Indeed I did! I got my tailwheel endorsement a couple years ago, and have been flying my friend's C-140 for the last couple of years, in addition to the Cutlass. But this week, I took my first step into aircraft ownership! A friend bought a new house and needed to get rid of his Maule. Since the Maule and the Bearhawk are very similar in size, weight, etc., it's a great learning platform. And I couldn't argue with the price.

I'm looking forward to it as well. If you saw my post a few days ago, we're moving to the other corner of the state, so the project is going to be on hold for a few months until we get it moved. Then I'll be back on it again. I definitely want you, as much as anyone else, to see if fly!

BJC's post looks out of place because the offending (spam) post that he reported has been removed by the mods.
