Are there any aspect ratio experts out there? I am building a STOL plane with a 32' wingspan (maximum due to hangar space) and a Ribblett 613.5 56" cord. This gives me an aspect ratio of 6.86. I am considering tapering the last 6' of trailing edge to a 613.5 46" cord, which would raise my aspect ratio to 8.35. I am not looking for a cruise performance gain, but rather climb and take off gains. I am wondering if my plan to taper the wing tip will be worth the effort? Or maybe the smaller tip cord will have an adverse effect (less square footage)? Any ideas?
