Random thought....

I know that according to FAR 45.11, a homebuilt needs to have "a fireproof plate...secured in such a manner that it will not likely be defaced or removed during normal service, or lost or destroyed in an accident...secured to the aircraft fuselage exterior so that it is legible to a person on the ground...either adjacent to and aft of the rearmost entrance door or on the fuselage surface near the tail surfaces.” There are only three piece of information that need to be included: builder's name, model, and serial number. The cheapest way I know to get an embossed stainless steel placard is...a GI dog tag. So would this do it, with a second hole drilled and two rivets to the fuselage?
