Like a lot of designs with forward fuselage fuel tanks, the outlet from the fuel tank in a VP-2 is too far forward to be able to reach the shut off valve in an emergency.
That implies a need for some sort of remote fuel shut off. Yes, I could go with one of the remote shaft and valve assemblies with the big selectors from Andair or Allen or wherever, but that seems like overkill for a Volksplane.
Does anyone have any examples of lightweight and inexpensive DIY remote shutoff installations using a push-pull shaft or cable or something equally simple?
For example, I have seen some push-pull fuel taps for old British motorcycles that seem promising.
Cheers,
Matthew
