It has been discussed here on HBA before. Canada Geese in their classic V formation fly in each others wake.
What I was wondering is if their wings are in sync.
They would not necessarily have an upstroke all at the same time, but have the same rate of wing beat.
Considering the downwash/turbulence this might be an energy saving method for the following birds.
