I was reminded today about a airplane I could have bought extremely cheap and it was a complete flying airplane that was just a bit tired. I hate regrets, usually a wast of time, but yeah, it still bothers me. It was a Smith Miniplane and the guy was desperate. He wanted $6k and I thought that was high so I offered $3,500. A month later he came back and said $4 but I refused and stuck with my $3,500. I came to my senses a week later and called him only to find out it was sold. Then depression set in. This Miniplane might have been older but it was immaculate and the original builder was flawless in his execution. Gosh i was stupid, that was a few years ago but my buddies still love to bring it up.

How about you? Any good stories of the one that got away?
