So I'm finally getting started on the delta. I actually haven't had the plans long but a new baby has been my top priority for the last couple of weeks. Now that I've been able to sleep a little I decided to get a little work done. At first updates are probably going to be a little sporadic. After a while I hope things will be more consistent.

Anyway, I've gathered up some of the materials I need to get started. All the sheet metal in the plane is .025 aluminum. Either 2024 or 6061, you have a choice. I'm using 2024. Spar caps are aluminum angle and there are random 4130 plate fittings throughout the plane.

The plans have you start with the main spar. It's located about 2/3 chord of the wing just behind the pilot. It's made up of 1/8 inch angle spar caps and .025 spar web with .025 stiffeners. I only had about two and a half hours but I got a lot done.

Center section main spar and cap. Yes they're curved.

That's it for today hopefully more to come soon.
