T bar or L angle, which is stronger in column compression?
My book shows the same formula* (moment of inertia) for both, but I suspect the T bar is superior in column loading because the book shows steel building trusses are often made with T bar main chords and simple angle for the low stress web struts.
* depends on axis. I don't see how to figure it out.
