    MJ 9 or 3/4 ME109

I've gone back and forth as to start a construction log here or not. Here goes, I hope I can keep up with the progress on a regular basis. The fuselage formers are made out of ash or plywood depending on the station number. This is a project I acquired several years ago with plans that where incomplete.

Tracing the plans page to make templates. The formers are overlapping so the page can't be cut.

One of the two completed templates I've finished. They are made from 1/4 plywood from hd. I use spray adhesive from the hobby store. I spray the wood not paper to avoid the paper stretching. I noticed the stretching when I was making templates for my Dr1 wing ribs.

    Re: MJ 9 or 3/4 ME109

With the completed templates I can do a former in about 25 minutes. It takes me about an hour to make one template. About 15 minutes is in tracing the pattern. My plan is to make templates of most of the parts even some of the ones that only have one piece. That way in the future if someone else decides to build an MJ9 they will be available. The build time will be cut at least 1/3. How nice would it be to spend a week cutting parts and have all the fuselage formers and wing ribs parts cut ready for assembly. Here's one of the templates with the cut and finished former.
