I picked up a project a while back that has tapered wood fairings glued to the wing struts per the factory instructions. The struts are powdercoated. I've seen guys use polyfill and epoxy varnish and then just paint em. The more traditional method and what I have on my other Avid is to wrap them in fabric. I'm running low on fabric materials and it's gonna be a few months yet before I could spray. Covering is obviously more work and time but what are your thoughts on the strength difference? I'm leaning towards just painting them so I can get a more glossy finish and not worry about them retaining any moisture. This is on an Avid Flyer Heavy Hauler. 7/8" struts with an 1150lb gross weight.
