I have a friend who is interested in building an Experimental Aircraft. He is a great welder and asked me if there was a low wing tube and fabric design he could study; something similar to a KR-2 and also powered by a VW or so. I couldn't think of one but told him a Sonerai I could be widened to meet his (side-by-side) requirement. But I also know that takes some engineering which isn't as easy as it sounds.

Rather than re-creating the wheel, are there plans out there that would fit the bill?

Thanks
