From a previous thread that shall remain unnamed, a wise person said the most cost-effective aircraft are:

Personal jet: L-39

Aerobatics: S-1S
Riding around: RV-6
Racing: Cassutt III M
Learning to fly: C150 / 152
Going in style: used Citation

First of all, a few more categories that I would love to see added, if possible: personal turboprop, and 4-person plane for riding around.

Second, can the author or others go into a little more detail about why the L-39 is the most cost-effective personal jet? From what I'm reading, the jet may have a low sticker cost but at 150 gallons/hour that is hardly an affordable piece of equipment. What about this:

And finally, why the RV-6 over others, such as the velocity? Those seem like king of the hill when it comes to riding around.

Thanks in advance for everyone's thoughts!
