I've used this quite a bit over the years checking various local area airflow. Can't really duplicate the prop wash but we can tuft and get a rough idea and sometimes precise enough. For instance, I installed some aileron fences on this SS1...made outa 040 lexan. Needing to hard slip frequently I wanted to know if the sideload was gonna blow the flimsy(but light) little fence over against the aileron and interfere with it(maybe try to hang). Fired up the wind tunnel and blew on it and found it plenty stiff. Nice. You can hold it a distance from your ASI and get somebody to watch it and find out what distance gives the speed you want. Might work pretty good for the sailplane guys with no prop blast.
