Hello Everyone!

I am super excited to have just ordered plans for the Pietenpol Air Camper. Now all I have to do is figure out how to build an airplane and learn how to fly. I have been lurking around here for quite a long time and decided it was finally time to become a member.

My name is Dale Hilton and I live in Northeast PA. I have been working for about seven years at a small hospital and am currently and IT Tech Support Specialist. Before that I was a carpenter, electronics tech, car salesman, production setup mechanic, and nuke electrician on a sub. My only experience in small aircraft is three lessons in a Cessna about 16 years ago and a few flights with friends in their planes. I hope to start lessons again in the spring at Cherry Ridge Airport.

Last Friday I searched around for a Corvair engine and found two at a junkyard just a few miles from my house. Both looked to be '69 110 hp versions. I brought one home and started tearing it down immediately. Now that I have spent actual cash on plans and an engine and have grease under my fingernails the project is officially underway.
