    Scrapper,
I live in Atlanta, GA and have been looking for a solid Cassutt project for a while now. Have you heard any more about this?

    Thanks,

    Michael Autry

Himat, if the Cassutt in Norway was raced by Christie, it is definitely the original 11M prototype built by Tom Cassutt.....

I'll have to try to get a picture of it this summer then.

There was a really cool article in the March 2015 episode of KitPlanes Magazine.

    Check it out: http://http://sr-1.weebly.com/upload...eeny-wings.pdf

He suggested to me to use a rounded tip at the front and blend it into a Hoerner style tip at the rear. The theory is that the high pressure air underneath the wing has to blend in with the lower pressure air on top of the wing with the least amount of turbulence.....which is one reason why you see winglets on airliners these days....to prevent the mixing until the wing is out of the way. They also help stabilize the plane especially in rough air. Another way to analyze this higher pressure air beneath the wing is to look at a cropduster wingtip. The droop tip keeps that partially span-wise flowing air under the wing to help with lift. Some people will never believe this, but it's not all about Bernoulli. Airplane wings push air down which is the result of the wing being installed with an angle of incidence.
It's all about Bernoulli AND it's all about pushing air down. Two ways of looking at the same thing. The pushing air down occurs under the wing, but also over the wing, because the reduced air pressure over the top of the wing means air gets pushed down by the higher pressure air above it. You can't pull on air.
