I have a Sears Craftsman router that I have had for many years, but I have used it very little until I started my build. I bought it before I swore to never buy another Craftsman (except maybe simple hand tools).

Now I am having problems with it, and wondered if anyone else has had a similar problem (not necessarily with a Craftsman), and any suggestions other than buying a new one.

First, the depth adjustment is jammed. It is supposed to be easy to adjust, but I have to practically disassemble it to change the depth. That I can live with.

The real problem is that, no matter how tight I make the collet, the bits always want to creep out. If I am using an edge trimming bit, this causes the guide roller to wander off the template (or straight edge). The first time this happened I did not notice until it gouged one of my longerons a bit.
