(This is a Mosler 1/2VW for those who don't see the heading, with a Slick mag)...

Flying around today, had been flying for a half hour or so, made a low pass over a friend's airstrip and climbed back up a thousand feet or so, when (still at full power), the engine hiccupped briefly. I throttled back and it smoothed out, circled the strip a couple more times and no further issues so I headed back to my home field, zigzagging a bit to stay over open fields. Back in my home field pattern, I have it full throttle briefly and it started missing again, back to cruise power and it ran smooth again. Went ahead and landed, and back on the ground with the wheels chocked, smooth as silk at all throttle settings up to full throttle.

So what could it be? Carb ice was a thought, but seeing the problem only at full throttle, and with a 25°F temperature-dewpoint thread it seems unlikely. New rebuilt mag, wires, and plugs less than 10 hours ago. Gravity feed so no fuel pump to worry about, and plenty of fuel in the tank. Now it's making me nervous to fly again since I can't duplicate it on the ground.
