I made this homemade 12" shear in 1985. Used it a lot in making all the stiffing aluminum angles for all the ribs for 2 sets of Bearhawk wings. I got the blades heat treated in the tool and die shop of the company that I was working for at the time and they will still cut thin paper after all the years of use. Might give you an idea about building a small shear. I also have a 4' stomp shear for the larger work.
