Just wondering if there has been any discussion of airframe airbags in the forums. I have been looking, but have not found any.
I was just thinking that possibly a series of airbags along the fuselage sides and bottom, and even the nose(in a pusher),that would automatically deploy in response to close proximity(velocity dependent, of course), absorbing impact energy. This would be lighter than making space for, and then building collapsible structure. Perhaps cheaper.
Any thoughts?
