Maybe this subject is covered before but as I had a camera nearby, here we go... Last photo shows what tools you need.
The steel balls are from various bearings and as you see, a few are fit to cut all dimensions.
The iron shape needs to be bolted onto the engine so I need a paper gasket to avoid leaks.
On the second photo, you will notice a roughly cut shape lying on the iron part and we are using the existing holes to position our steel balls. A gentle knock with a hammer will do the rest.
Cutting a cross in the paper will help the ball to stay in position.
It's obvious that you need a ball that is at least 30% bigger than the hole you like to cut.
