New old pilot considering going from 182 to Lancair or glasair..what say you?

I don't have a lot of hours (apx 230)...used to having sports cars, and already considering more speed than I get with my 182, as I fly occasionally to California from Montana.
What am I going to run into by going to a Lancair 320/360 or a Glasair II...I also fly a Cherokee Arrow some.....no stick time....
