Hi guys,
With forward swept wings (FSW), there are a number of issues which are mentioned both in Raymer and on the web generally.

(1) Wing tip divergence
(2) Dutch roll tendency

However, a third (possibly significant) issue has just been mentioned to me, as follows:

If the tips have lift and the root is stalled with forward sweep, then the remaining lift has shifted forward compared to the CG which would alter the pitch to nose up. With rearward sweep the opposite occurs dropping the nose

I know that a number of sailplanes have FSW, so possibly the glider guys can pitch in here and quantify and/or confirm/deny the issues?

Regards,
Duncan
