Hi guys...trying to get a picture of the normal range of CHTs that 503s run at as opposed to the Rotax book figure,

Mine is a fan cooled pusher on a trike and always runs cooler than the Rotax book fig...mine running at (145c/293f)....rather than the book normal running temps figs of (180c/350f) to (220c430f) and not much difference with summer or winter flying,

My EGTs is around 600c/1115f at 5000rpm...I have tried giving the prop more and less pitch...with not much difference in the CHT fig that I get,

Another guy running the same a/c as me gets the very same figs as me and my previous engine on this same a/c ran at the same lower temp...I have duel CHT and EGTs reading in deg c and both gauges are very much equal to each other...so I'm trying to figure out if the CHT can vary much with different a/c types ie Tractor or free air cooling v my fan cooled pusher set-up,

The thing that bothers me about this is getting into the cold seize situation with the cylinders being to cool and maybe tighter on the piston than it should be...although I always give it a good 10/15 mins of warming up time but my on the ground CHT temp will only be about 125c/250f before take off,

I would appreciate any input you guys can give me re your normal in flight CHT cruise figs.

Regards Nick.
