    Concave hull references

    Hi all,

Been looking into concave hulls recently, I can't seem to find much about them in my docs, anyone has any pointers when it comes to estimating loads ? (not looking into stability or spray)
I am very well aware of the "classic" formula seen in the FARs or equivalent but most applications would be for V hulls, so I am wondering if it would also be applicable to concave hulls.

By "concave" do you mean a scalloped hull where a straight line like in a classic "V" is replaced by an arc?

The loads on this type of bottom can be proportioned to the lift calculation as presented in Hoerner (lift as a function of dead-rise - Figure 24 of Fluid Dynamic Drag). You can use the FAR hull design criteria and then modify the loads to reflect the concave geometry.
