Recently surfed onto a model rocket website which made mention of a pink, extruded polystyrene manufactured by Owens called Foamular. The guy was using the Foamular, turned on a lathe, in the fabrication of a plug for a rocket.
Does anybody out there have any experience with this type of insulation foam when it comes to the construction of a full size fuselage plug? Are there any advantages over the use of urethane foam?
I'm at the stage where I'm ready to build a fuselage plug from which to pull fiberglass molds, and any advice/recommendations is/are most welcome and much appreciated. (This will be a first for me.)
Come to think of it, any advice at all concerning the construction of a plug would be eagerly welcomed!
