hey all, I have a question on two stroke engines. why does no one use the new two stroke snowmobile engines available?? they have EXTREMELY reliable ignition and EFI systems, dual plugs. you can get an 800 cc twin and a 1000cc twin. these motors make 150-170 hp. they are water cooled and very torquey. the 800 runs quite smooth and the 1000cc isn't bad either.
all for an engine not much different in size than the rotax 583.
my next question will be why no one uses the turbocharged two cylinder arctic cat four strokes. same reasons only they make 177hp stock and they have been punished in racing with huge boost so they are tough.
