I've been starting to go through the DA-5 plans and am noticing that there are a lot of areas where steel (4130) is joined with aluminum (2024). I would have thought that this should be avoided at all costs due to dissimilar metal corrosion.
Is this only an issue on the order of 40+ years, or is there a surface treatment that should be done to one of the materials?
