Hello All

My apologies if this subject has come up before - I searched and couldn't find much on 5083.
I have been looking at the spec sheets and they seem pretty close if not more in favor of the 5083?

5083 - ASM Material Data Sheet
6061 - ASM Material Data Sheet

The 5083 has lower elongation at break (9% vs 12%) is that its downfall?
Why is it not used where 6061 is used? (I'm thinking thin sheet like wing covering etc.)

Cheers
David
