    Bradley Aerobat ?

Whatever happened to the Bradley Aerobat? It looks good, possibly flies good, but it seems to have disappeared. I'm just curious what the story is for this little plane.

The Bradley Aerobat was a modification of several designs - the changes were made for easier construction and more durability. Bradley Huggins (company owner) sold over two hundred of the kits and I think at last count a bit more than a third are flying. One is also being used in a "comedy" act at airshows.

About a year ago or so Bradly decided to go into other business ventures and shut the compay down. I think he is willing to sell the entire venture - last I heard he lived in the Redding or Chico area of Central California but I havent heard from him in over a year so I don't know his or the company's current status.

    Re: Bradley Aerobat ?

I've recently exchanged emails with Bradley Aeropsace
and person who says he has built three aerobats. So
the proprietor has not left the business.

I can't say much more, as I have not seen a kit or a finished
plane yet, nor spent any money.

Do you have the contact info? I'd like to see if the owner is still Bradley, or if somone else has it now.

It is still Bradley Huggins who is running the company. His
    email address is bradleyaerospace(atsign)yahoo.com.
He does not appear to have his own website anymore but
Vortech is an authorized dealer and has pages dedicated to
    the plane: http://www.vortechonline.com/bradley/

    Re: Bradley Aerobat ?

In response to my inquiry Bradley Aerospace gave me two
email addresses of recent customers. I'll summarize their
    statements here:

One tells me he is still working on it, but he has only
been working on weekends, it is going together very
fast and he expects to complete it in 200 hours.

He also recommends taking the time to build a cradle
to support the wings during their construction.

The other fellow says he built one in 2001, then another
a few years later, helped a friend build one and expects
a fourth kit to ship to him this Friday. He says he can build
one in 150 hours. He describes the plane as docile for normal
flying but very responsive for aerobatics.

He also says that Bradley Huggins works from a home
in a 40' x 140' steel bldg, the parts are professionally
CNC cut in batches of ten planes each. Hardware must
    be bought separately.

I'll try to call Vortech later this week, they are within easy
    driving distance of myself.

It would be nice if someone on this forum were close
enough to Chino, CA to check out the operation.
I don't know any more about the people with whom
I have been corresponding, than you do about me....

I have also written to a fellow who, on his webpage,
expressed doubts about the plane, company, and
proprietor. I haven''t heard back yet.

I believe they are in Chico, not Chino, otherwise I'd go over there and check it out.

Oops, sorry about that. Did I mention that I had a friend who
drove to Oswego, NY for an auction and upon arrival discovered
that the auction was actually in Owego, NY...

Here is an address (I'm not sure it is current) for

    Bradley Aerospace
    236 A West East Ave #260
    Chico CA
    95926

It would be good to hear from someone who has been
    there.

    Re: Bradley Aerobat ?

Well after a week or so I have been unable to verify any of the
    information I have been told.

I asked the fellow who says he built three for the N-numbers and
he never replied. I asked him where he was located and he didn't
say. He did give me a cell phone number (Houston Area Code).
So I asked him when would be a good time to call and he wrote
back to say he had canceled that service and wanted my number
    to call me.

I found a webpage with some negative commentary about BA
so I emailed the author and the email bounced.

The eBay auction is renewed every time it expires. The seller
sometimes responds to questions. He says he has sold 200
kits. Funny thing is, that was the same number given back in
2004. Now if BA is having ten made per month and selling ten
per month how come they still have only sold 200 kits to date?
They've been running the auction on eBay since at least April.

Another fellow on a Teenie Two forum says Bradley is out of business
and (he thinks) only sold about a dozen kits. So I asked him if he
had ever met Bradley Huggins. He wrote back, but didn't answer the
question. So I guess I won't bother asking him any more questions.
I just don't get it. Why do people bother writing back if they're
not going to answer the question I asked them?

The person running the eBay auctions evidently is using the name
Bradley Huggins. I don't know if it _is_ Bradley Huggins. One
email came from an account of a Robyn Huggins.

if you are looking yes they are on ebay on experimental planes, but if you are able to wait there is a much better looking plane of the same size, more aerodynamic and cheaper to build. he was in air and space mag. his site is www.bkfliers.com email him and tell him bill kessinger sent you. his plans will be available late winter or early spring. this little plane is awesome. God speed and happy flying. bill
