I can only find requirements for standard category aircraft with regard to instrumentation for IFR. Can the builder use anything they feel sufficient e.g. a ball and string? In particular can a builder use a Dynon EFIS as primary while IMC in an experimental? Thought it left a little more discretion to the builder than common and therefore I must be missing something.

Thanks
