Happy to help with composites & Experiemental Aircraft

My name is Rob Huntington, General Manager of Zero Gravity Builders Studio located in Pasco, WA. I was formerly with Phoenix Composites for about 8 years and have been involved with building experimental aircraft since I was a kid when my father & I started construction of a Starduster Too in 1966. He & I finished the Starduster along with a Varieze, a Glasair I TD and a KIS. Working at Phoenix Composites I was involved in the completion of over 25 additional aircraft including all Glasair models, all Lancair models, Turbine Legend, CompAir, Europa and Express aircraft.

I would be most happy to lend any assistance in answering questions about composite construction and all aspects of building & flying experimental aircraft.

Welcome ZeroG,

I am in the middle or begining of a composite project, depending on how you look at it. We all could use the advice of another knowlegable builder here.

Re: Happy to help with composites & Experiemental Aircraft

Welcome aboard, Rob

Perhaps you could weigh in on one-off construction using sheet or strip foam. What is your experience with one-off construction when the additional work/cost of a plug & mold is not justified?

What are some of the important features you look for in the design/construction of a fuselage? What are some of the important lessons you've learned?

Perhaps you'd like to start a thread in the composite section. It would be most welcomed!

Iceman
