    Hey Miguel - Bienvinidos!

Glad to have you here. I get to southern Brazil sometimes, but not as far south as Montevideo.

I looked seriously at Piel's Beryl years ago - nice design, not too complicated to build. As I really wanted an open-cockpit airplane, however, I built my Duce.

Lots of experience with wood - both airplanes and boats.

    The airplane in the picture

Yes, Miguel, that is my airplane. Started in 1979, but then set aside while I raised a family - restarted in 2001, completed in 2005.

Since the initial flight, I have made a front cockpit cover for when I am travelling alone. Raises the cruise speed by 12 mph for the same throttle setting. Also re-made the windshields, installed GPS, parking brake, moved the shoulder harness up, and a few other things.

I am a tinkerere by nature, so need to start another project to keep me from making more Duce changes! Currently re-building an elevator on a friend's Duce.
