It seems that you like what the engineer says. I also find truth in his post. New pilots, as you are one, bring a lot of new ideas and ways of looking at things. I'm not an engineer but a pilot and I've been one since 1966. Put it this way, I've had about 18,000 hrs to think about airfoils. In the last few years my interests have been in importing Soviet aircraft to the US. And most recently building them. My most recent is a Demoiselle which is a bamboo aircraft. Not being an engineer is a draw back if one is building from nothing or working on a new design. I just found Rhino, a 3D CAD program. I'm signing up for classes for Rhino. Seen much change in aviation since I started and therefore I'm always looking for suggestions. If you would like to communicate, my email is Cheers, Steve
