best glue for dacron 1.8 oz.?

Hey guys, I have just a quick question here....

In my ongoing search for the lightest/cheapest design for an ultralight trainer type of aircraft I have one of many simple questions that I am tired of asking my self. So I thought I'd pick your brains instead. Here goes......

If you were told that you had to walk into a common hardware store (ace, lowes, home depot,....) and purchase the best glue to attach 1.8 oz. dacron to a wooden ultralight frame what would be your choice and why?

    thanks, radio

We used contact cement applied as directed for all the dacron fabric in the airplane factory where I worked. Fuselage and tail, the wings were slip covers with some cement.
Apply cement to both the fabric and frame, let dry then stick on the fabric. It cannot be repositioned. Otherwise, it is cheap, quick and less messy than glue.

We used solvent based, not the new water based. The water based might work.

I'm not sure you will find anything suitable in a hardware store. I'm using Stuart Systems Ekobond which is available from AS&S for $50 a quart which is enough to cover a small plane. The stuff has real good characteristics--easy to use, little smell, reactivated with heat, very good strength. Its water borne so it won't attack varnish. Its compatable with latex paint if you really want to cover an airplane inexpensively.

Plybond by 3M is what Bellanca used on Cetabria and Scout.
