Mobile Phone GPS for Aeronautical use?
I bought a HTC Fuse mobile phone that has gps capabilities and windows operating system. I found this program that seems to have real time gps for aviation use. EFISce 2003 Europe database 1.51 Windows Mobile Pocket PC my question is does my phone actually have a gps, or is it something that works off cell towers? Would this program work? |
Re: Mobile Phone GPS for Aeronautical use?
All cell phones in the US are required to have some sort of tracking device now... a few use GPS but most use a cell tower based sytem. I don't know how that would work in the air, but unless you have a PCS phone, it's illegal to use it while airborne (not that I've ever heard of anybody being charged). -Dana Never weed wack poison ivy in the nude. |
