Cool plane.Flying Saucer U.F.O. Experimental Aircraft

If i only had some extra cash laying around with nothing to spend it on. This would be a cool plane to attract and wow the crowd at airshows.

The text makes it sound like it's round in planform, but the leading edge is fairly straight, so it's a redo of the flying heel lifts and flying pancakes.

Am I missing something or does this thing have two axis control?

Can't see enough detail to tell if the elevator is split in the center.

BTW... did you catch those healthy VG's on the leading edge?

When I was a kid(40yrs ago) cleaning out a nearby barn I remember seeing something like this but the one I saw had a second engine driving a center mounted prop that seemed as though it would provide VTOL. Typical barn find though as I remember it having about two inches of dust on it so it had probably been sitting there for a decade already.

I think the prop would vibrate horribly passing that close behind the cabin. I wonder, once it started vibrating, if it would even clear the cabin. In any case, it would be loud and odd sounding.

I think if you look close it has some what of a dihydral,..about possibly 4 to 5 degree's? and with the wing as wide as it is ,.2 axis might be all it needs,..in calm air ,..I would think since it's not rotating like a frisbee,..stability would be at risk in higher winds ,. on e bay in the write up it stated that one is flying and was sold to a foreign Gov and used for servalance purposes.

For surveillance, you'd have to fly it upside down.

You know, it'd probably help his sales if he had some pictures of it actually flying.. Weird though :p

Based on the dust on the plexi, I'd say it's been in that shed for quite awhile.

I almost bought this aircraft back when it was on barnstormers. The owner was the son of the creator. According to him 2 were produced and this one had been flown less than 2 hours and sitting for many years.....Here is another pic I have,....Cool plane.Flying Saucer U.F.O.
