Some friends and I were talking about must-do vacations and the subject of northern holidays came up. I mentioned that some day it would be a ball to compete in the Valdez STOL competition. Now, I don't own any airplane, let alone one that would be remotely competitive but it got me wondering what the ultimate STOL show-off machine would be. I mean the kind of thing that will get you the absolute record (for the time being) and your fifteen minutes of YouTube fame to go with it. It need not be practical outside of showing off.
The rules can be found here but when it all comes down to it the thing would likely just compete in the experimental class for its weight. They look pretty open-ended otherwise.

So how would you do it? This is strictly a theoretical exercise so feel free to go out to the edge of what's possible but bear in mind it looks like the contest can be held in some pretty windy and gusty conditions so the plane will have to be at least a little rugged.
